FLYING

The Greenbrier Valley Airport in Lewisburg, WV is less than an hour and a half from the top of Snowshoe Mountain. They currently offer daily, nonstop round trips from Chicago and daily one stops from Washington D.C.  

 Dulles International Airport, in Loudon County, VA is about 4 hours away and offers flights to about anywhere you want to go or come from.  It is a beautiful drive through the Shenandoah Valley to the Alleghenies with lots to see along the way.   

Pittsburgh International Airport is less than 4 hours away from Snowshoe, and the route will take you past some interesting and beautiful WV destinations.   


DRIVING

From the East (Richmond, Portsmouth, Norfolk) 

1-64 West to I-81 North to Staunton, VA. 
West on US-250 
At Bartow, take WV-92 S to Green Bank 
Then WV-84 West towards Green Bank to 28/92. 
Follow through Green Bank and turn right on RT 66. 
Follow through Cass and up the mountain. 
Entrance to Snowshoe will be on the right. 

 

From the Northeast (Baltimore, Philadelphia) 

I-95 to Baltimore, then I-70 to I-81 South to Strasburg, VA. 
Travel West on HWY 55 into WV. 
Proceed through Moorefield and Petersburg where you will take Route 28 towards Green Bank / Cass. 
Travel on 28 through Green Bank. 
Take Route 66 toward Cass. 
Follow through Cass and up the mountain. 
Entrance to Snowshoe will be on the right 

 

From the Northeast (Harrisonburg, PA) 

Take I-81 toward Harrisonburg where you will take 33 West. 
From 33, travel South on 220 to Vanderpool then 84 West to Frost. 
From Frost, follow 92/28 North to Rt. 66. 
Follow Rt. 66 through Cass and up the mountain. 
Entrance to Snowshoe will be on the right. 

 

From North (Pittsburgh, PA) 

I-79 South to Weston, WV. 
East on US-33 to Elkins. 
From Elkins, follow US-219 toward Snowshoe. 
Turn Left onto RT-66 and continue about 1 mile. 
Turn left onto Snowshoe Drive. 

 

From North (Altoona and  Harrisonburg, PA) 

US-220 to I-70 East to Hagerstown, MD. 
Then I-81 South to Staunton, VA. 
West on US-250 
At Monterey, South on 220 to Frost. 
Then WV-84 West towards Green Bank to 28/92. 
Follow through Dunmore and go left on RT 66. 
Follow through Cass and up the mountain. 
Entrance to Snowshoe will be on the right. 

 

From the South (Raleigh-Durham, NC; Greensboro, NC) 

North on US-220 to Roanoke. 
Follow 220 to Clifton Forge, VA. 
Take I-64 West to White Sulphur Springs, WV. 
From White Sulphur Springs, follow 92 North. 
Turn left onto WV-39 West toward Marlinton, WV. 
From Marlinton, follow US-219 toward Snowshoe. 
Turn right onto Rt. 66.   
In about 1 mile Snowshoe entrance will be on your left. 

 

From the South (Atalnta, GA; Columbia SC; Charlotte, NC) 

North on I-77  to Beckley, WV. 
Take I-64 East to White Sulphur Springs, WV. 
From White Sulphur Springs, follow 92 North. 
Turn left onto WV-39 West toward Marlinton, WV. 
From Marlinton, follow US-219 toward Snowshoe. 
Turn right onto Rt. 66.   
In about 1 mile Snowshoe entrance will be on your left. 

 

From the West (Cleveland, OH) 

I-75 to I-80/90 East. 
South on I-77 to Parkersburg, WV. 
US-50 East to Clarksburg. 
I-79 South to Weston, WV, then East on US-33 to Elkins. 
From Elkins, South on US 219. 
Left onto Rt. 66 and continue about 1 mile. 
Entrance to Snowshoe will be on your left. 

 

From the West (Chicago ,Indianapolis, Dayton, Columbus) 

South on I-65 to Indianapolis then East on I-70 through Dayton to Columbus. 
270 South to US-33 East toward Athens, Ohio. 
Take US-50 East to Parkersburg and Clarksburg, WV. 
I-79 South to Weston, WV, then East on US-33 to Elkins. 
From Elkins, South on US 219. 
Left onto Rt. 66 and continue about 1 mile. 
Entrance to Snowshoe will be on your left. 

 

From the West (Nashville, Knoxville) 

I-40 to Knoxville and I-81 North toward I-77 North. 
Follow I-77 North to I-64 East toward White Sulphur Springs, WV. 
From White Sulphur Springs, follow 92 North. 
Turn right onto WV-39 West toward Marlinton, WV. 
From Marlinton, follow US-219 toward Snowshoe. 
Turn right onto Rt. 66 and continue for about 1 mile. 
Snowshoe entrance will be on your left. 

 

From the West (Cincinnati) 

Take Rt. 50 East from I-275 to Athens, Ohio. 
Continue onto Parkersburg, then Clarksburg, WV. 
From Clarksburg, take I-79 South to Weston, WV then East on US-33 to Elkins. 
From Elkins, South on US 219. 
Left onto Rt. 66 and continue for about 1 mile. 
Entrance to Snowshoe will be on your left. 

 

From the West (Evansville, Louisville, Lexington) 

I-64 East to Charleston, WV. 
Continue on I-64/77 (toll) to Beckley, WV. 
Then take I-64 East to White Sulphur Springs. 
Exit US-60 through the town of White Sulphur Springs, then left on to Rt. 92. 
Follow 92 North to the end, then turn right onto WV-39 West toward Marlinton, WV. 
From Marlinton, follow US-219 toward Snowshoe. 
Turn right onto Rt. 66 and continue for about 1 mile. 
Snowshoe entrance will be on your left.
